Badrinarayan was born in 1929 in Secunderabad. A self-taught artist, he has held solo shows in India, Germany and the U.S.A. In 1965, he won the Lalit Kala National Award for his painting, The Family.His work has been included in important exhibitions such as Asian Artists Exhibition, Tokyo ( 1957 ), Art Now in India, Newcastle, England and Ghent, Belgium ( 1966 ), Indian Art Today, Darmstadt, West Germany ( 1982 ). He has also represented India in the Biennales of Paris ( 9161 ), Biennales of Prints, Tokyo ( 1966-67).
