Dr. Charumati was born in Delhi. After completing high school from M.G.D. School, Jaipur she went to Lady Shriram College in New Delhi for graduation in Psychology. She later did her Masters in Psychology. She was always inclined towards fine arta and has been painting since childhood. Nature has been her inspiration and she started with painting birds in water colour.

Many hours spent in the Ranthambore National Park have drawn her to the hypnotic beauty of the tigers of Ranthambore National Park and given her a unique perspective on them. Charumati has developed her own style of charcoal drawings from close observation of tigers in the wild. Her drawing embody many facets of the life of tiger. She has captured the essence of the tiger .
